Custom software the Sprint way

Custom software is the broadest category we offer — internal tools, customer dashboards, B2B SaaS, line-of-business apps, integrations between systems that do not talk to each other. The Sprint shape stays the same: 14 days, fixed scope, fixed price, working software at hand-off. We start with the smallest deployable slice of value (one workflow, one user role, one data source) and ship that. If the project is bigger than 14 days of work, we scope sequential Sprints with explicit go/no-go decisions between each.

How we approach integrations and data plumbing

Half of custom software in 2026 is integration work — Salesforce to your data warehouse, Stripe to QuickBooks, your CRM to your support tool, internal Postgres to a CSV your accountant wants. We use n8n or Make for orchestration when those fit, write code when they do not, and always leave the workflow observable (run history, errors visible, retry strategy documented). No black-box magic. Your ops team can debug a broken sync without paging us.

Stack pragmatism over stack purity

For new builds we default to Next.js + TypeScript + Supabase + Postgres because that combination is fast to ship and easy to hand off. For existing systems we work in whatever you already have — Django, Rails, Laravel, .NET, Node + Express. We do not rewrite working software unless rewriting is the actual contract. We do not bring in our preferred framework to a codebase that already has a working one. We pick the boring choice every time the boring choice clears the bar.

Hand-off is a deliverable, not an afterthought

Every Sprint ends with: a README that documents how to run, build, and deploy; an ENV file template with every variable explained; CI/CD configuration that works on day one in your account; database migrations in version control; a runbook for the 3 most common operational issues; and a 30-minute Loom walkthrough for the engineer who will own the code next. We do not leave you guessing how to maintain what you bought.

What size projects do you take on?
From a 1-week MVP to a multi-quarter platform build. We will pass on engagements where the scope is so large that we cannot ship anything useful in the first 30 days — those projects deserve a different kind of shop.
Will the code be ours?
Yes. You own the IP, the repo, the credentials, and the runtime accounts from day one. Everything is documented well enough that another competent team could pick it up if we got hit by a bus.
How fast can you start?
Most engagements start within 1-2 weeks of the discovery call. If you need to start sooner, tell us on the call — we keep a small amount of capacity reserved for urgent work and will be honest about whether we can meet your date.
Do you work with companies outside Canada?
Yes. Creative Brain Inc. is based in Brampton, Ontario but works across North America, the EU, and AU. We bill in CAD, run async across time zones, and overlap a few hours daily with your team for live work.
